How to apply

Application requirements

To apply for a doctoral research grant, university applicants and college or engineer school graduates have to hold a master delivered by a university or a diploma which allow them to start a PhD according to the Doctoral School.

To apply for a post-doctoral research grant, applicants have to hold a doctorate or an equivalent before starting the contract. Applications of researchers who have already benefited from a PhD contract co-financed by CNES are not admissible.

Application form

Sciences which make use of space equipments (universe sciences, Earth sciences, life sciences and et material sciences)

Thesis topics are preselected by the CNES grant committee each December. All the topics are then available on our web site until the end of March.

If you want to apply to a doctoral grant in the domain of sciences which make use of space equipments, we invite you to first of all, contact the responsible of the topic in the laboratory (name and adress in each file) and then send by e.mail the application form filled and signed to : these.paris@cnes.fr for March 31 st at the latest. The original documents may reach us by post at CNES, Candidature à une allocation de recherche doctorale, Myriana LOZACH, 2 pl Maurice Quentin, 75 039 Paris Cedex 1.

As the post-doctoral topics are not pre selected, applicants are invited to propose their research project and the host laboratory to the CNES responsible of the thematics. Then applicants will apply by sending the application form filled and signed by e.mail to : postdoctorat.paris@cnes.fr for March 31 st at the latest. The original documents may reach us by post at CNES, Candidature à une allocation de recherche post-doctorale, Myriana LOZACH, 2 pl Maurice Quentin, 75 039 Paris Cedex 1.

Engineering sciences (space transport)

If you want to apply to a doctoral or post-doctoral grant in the domain of space transport, we invite you to first of all, contact the responsible of the topic in the laboratory (name and adress in each file) and then send by e.mail the application form filled and signed to : bourse.paris_daumesnil@cnes.fr for March 31 st at the latest. As the post-doctoral topics are not pre selected in the domain of orbital systems, applicants are invited to propose their research project and the host laboratory to the CNES. Procedure timetable

Application forms will be accepted until March 31st 2014 at the latest.

Only the applicants for a post-doctoral grant will be invited for an interview in April/May 2014.

Juries selection will meet in late May 2014.

Dissemination of results will be done individually after the grant committee at the beginning of June 2014.
