The Challenges of Space in Denain
Bringing space into the public eye, generating interest in space matters and fostering a vibrant space culture are key to CNES’s mission. With this aim in mind, the French space agency and the town of Denain in northern France are co-organizing Les Enjeux de l’Espace (The Challenges of Space) from 17 September to 17 October. The town has risen to the challenge and is all set to lift its gaze to the stars during a month of exhibitions, teaching seminars and lectures.
Seeing stars
A varied programme of shows and events beckons for the population of northern France during this month-long event. In addition to exhibitions organized by CNES, the town’s associations and schools are also playing a big part. Les Enjeux de l'Espace will be marked by a number of keynote events and gatherings, including guided tours for schools, lectures and teaching seminars. Entry to most events, with the exception of a few shows, will be free.
Denain has worked hard to put together this month devoted to space with CNES, local authorities, trade and industry organizations and institutional, industrial and scientific partners. Its efforts have resulted in a partnership between a vibrant town looking to harness technology for its citizens and a “stargazing” institution
