59th straight success for Ariane 5

Saturday 22 March, Ariane 5 accomplished a flawless launch from Europe’s spaceport at the Guiana Space Centre, orbiting two telecommunications satellites, ASTRA 5B and Amazonas 4A. The flight was the European launcher’s 59th straight success since 2003.

The countdown, first planned on friday 21 March, had been delayed 24 hours because of bad meteorological condtions at the Spaceport in French Guiana.
